Training

Summer Training Programme

Intent – During the summer cycle we look to prepare our players both physically and mentally for the coming season. Training is broken into the following key elements that we feel are vital to the development of the players.

Monday:

19:00-19:45 – Games for Understanding at Station View

During these sessions we look to develop a player’s aerobic capacity and ability to make decisions under fatigue. These non-contact games are structured around the fundamentals of the sport and allow players to develop their own core skills.

20:00-21:00 – Strength and Conditioning

These sessions are designed to improve a player’s overall mobility and power output through CrossFit activity. Players that require personal physical therapy then Mark Foster and his team are always on hand with their therapeutic and rehabilitation work.

Wednesday :

19:00-20:30 – Player & Team Development at Station View

This session is your more typical rugby training session. Players are introduced to a theme for the evening by the coaches and then the players will look to develop their understanding of the skills and movement patterns associated with it.

19:00-20:00 – Social Touch and Pass at Station View

For those players that are looking for slightly easier pace to training we offer a social & vets touch and pass session throughout the summer. Just drop in and play!
