With Dan Bird absent on maternity duty Roy MacKay stepped in as Head Coach commenting,” Pythons adapted well to the wet and muddy conditions, playing a good structured game plan. One of the most pleasing aspects was all 18 players contributed to the win with the added four try bonus point against very gritty and committed opponents. Throughout the match there were some terrific examples of individual and team attack and defence. Although the scores seesawed over the 80 minutes, Pythons maintained their composure to see out the win.”

George Booth and Luke Price-Gerrard led the charge in the middle setting up some great phases for Mike Adams at number 9 and Jed Carr to control the back play to take the game out wide. A missed line kick scooped up by Harrish Parrish who sets the back line moving with the final pass from Adshead finding Louis Dabhi-Green 20m out to touch down in the corner, 12-7 half time.
Hull respond early in the second half with a number 8 drive close to the posts, 12-14.
