Harrogate Pythons had their first ‘Lunch With’ at William & Victoria’s featuring Jason Leonard as their headline guest. Known as The Fun Bus, Jason’s rugby credentials speak for themselves, 114 England Caps, World Cups 1991; 1995; 1999; 2003 Winner, British & Irish Lion 1993,1997, 2001 and a host of domestic honours. On a glorious afternoon pre lunch drinks were supplied by Whittaker’s Gin where Jason mingled with the guests sharing his views on all things rugby. The 4 course lunch with wine organised by W&V’s owner David Straker was served in The Harrogate Room where Jason continued to interact with the guests. He presented a 20min speech and then fielded questions form the guests. Chairman Julian Tatlow said, ”We began planning this over a few bottles of wine in William & Vic’s with members Michael Armstrong and Matthew Powell. Lunches like this tend to be within the M25 so we decided it was about time to host one in The North and what a great venue we had.” He continued, “Jason was great with our guests David’s hospitality was superb and Toby Whittaker’s offer to sponsor the pre dinner drinks was very well received. We will do this again,” he added.
